It gives me great pleasure to welcome the new Year 7 students to Lordswood Boys’ School. I hope that the years they will spend here will be both happy and memorable. It is our ambition that every student leaves here a confident, successful and responsible young adult.
As Achievement Coordinator for Year 7 I am looking forward to guiding and supporting students throughout their journey towards academic success. The next five years are going to go far quicker than they can imagine and at times may be very challenging, but with their hard work, and the wonderful teaching staff here at LBS, I can assure you, that the journey will be a rewarding one.
Our aspirations for students will be realised through high expectations of all, both in and out of the classroom, and fuelled by our passion and determination that all students should succeed. All staff at the school share these high expectations and therefore all students are expected to show dedication and commitment across all their subject areas. This includes attending school punctually every day and showing respect to staff and students alike. In return, we will provide a wealth of academic, creative, sporting and personal experiences that will inevitably lead to the success of our students as they grow into valuable members of our community.
Starting at secondary school may seem like a frightening and overwhelming experience but students do quickly gain confidence and generally settle into Year 7 with ease. To further help with the transition into LBS there is a Year 7 Settling in Evening on Thursday 1st October 2015 whereby parents will have the opportunity to meet form tutors and key members of staff.
